DANCING IN THE DARK Dancing in the Dark Readies for Opening! In the Globe's exciting world premiere production of Dancing in the Dark, Tony Hunter (Scott Bakula) is a Hollywood star with a career on the wane. Jeffrey Cordova is a Shakespearean actor-manager with a taste for high art. Together they team up with a diverse assortment of theatrical personalities to create a new musical that’s strictly “entertainment.” With a score packed with classics like “A Shine on Your Shoes,” that quintessential ode to show business, “That’s Entertainment!,” and the title song, Dancing in the Dark will have audiences dancing in the aisles! Golden Globe®-winner and Emmy®-nominated stage and screen star Scott Bakula is well-known to television audiences from his starring role on the popular series Quantum Leap (Golden Globe Award; Emmy nomination). His Broadway credits include Romance/ Romance (Tony Award nomination) and Marilyn, An American Fable (Broadway debut). Off-Broadway he has appeared in Three Guys Naked from the Waist Down, and his regional theater credits include Shenandoah, No Strings and Nite Club Confidential. Additional TV credits include: The New Adventures of Old Christine, Designing Women, Murphy Brown, Star Trek: Enterprise, It’s a Girl Thing, The Invaders, Tom Clancy’s Net Force, Mean Streak, Bachelor’s Baby, Papa’s Angels, What Girls Learn. He has also held memorable roles in the films American B eauty, Life as a House, Ghost of a Chance, Lord of Illusions, Major League: Back to the Minors, Mi Familia/My Family, Color of Night, A Passion to Kill, Necessary Roughness and Sibling Rivalry. |
