Bakula, Boutsikaris, and Williams to Join Cast of Geffen's
Quality of Life

Scott Bakula, Dennis Boutsikaris, and JoBeth Williams will
join previously announced actor Laurie Metcalf for the world premiere of
playwright/director Jane Anderson's The Quality of Life. The production will
play the Geffen October 10-November 19.
The play explores the relationship of two couples as they are forced to take a
stance about morality, religion, politics and what determines the value of a
life.
Bakula received a Tony Award nomination for Romance/Romance. Other theatrical
credits include the Broadway production of Marilyn an American Fable, Shenandoah
at the Ford Theatre in D.C., and No Strings for LA Reprise! Broadway's Best. He
received four Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award for his starring
role in the TV series Quantum Leap.
Boutsikaris' Broadway credits include Amadeus, Filumena, and Bent. He received
an Obie Award and a Drama Desk nomination for the Off-Broadway production of
Sight Unseen. He has numerous television and film credits, and was last seen at
the Geffen in David Mamet's The Old Neighborhood.
Metcalf will co-star with Nathan Lane in the upcoming Broadway production of
November, and has previously appeared on Broadway in My Thing of Love. She won
Theatre World and Drama Desk Awards for her work for the Circle Repertory
production of Balm in Gilead. Her previous credits at the Geffen include All My
Sons and Looking for Normal, both of which garnered her L.A. Ovation Awards. She
won three Emmy Awards for her work on Roseanne and was nominated for a 2007 Emmy
for Desperate Housewives.
Williams' theater credits include Moonchildren, Lady House Blues, and Gardenia.
Her film credits include Poltergeist, The Big Chill, and American Dreamer. She
has received Emmy Award nominations for her work in Adam and Baby M, and an
Academy Award nomination for her direction of the live action short, On Hope.
The design team for The Quality of Life will include Francois-Pierre Couture
(sets), Christina Haatainen Jones (costumes), Jason Thompson (lighting), and
Karl Lundeberg (sound).
